In keeping with the decidedly violent tone of my previous post, here’s something I dug up while surfing trough Soldier of Fortune Online www.notcot.org (one of my favourite user-powered design blogs, which I assure you has no plans for military takeover of any kind): a foldout submachine gun. The Magpul FMG-9 is a lightweight package of homicidal potential that disguises itself as a heavy duty torchlight right up to the point where you decide to off your pesky neighbour, at which time it flops out Transformers-style into the Glock-based cap-buster it was meant to be. Thank God it’s just a concept prototype at the moment. JUICE abhors, I repeat, abhors violence of any kind (except to bartenders who water down our drinks, natch), so watch the video below only as a lesson on mankind’s repulsive animal nature. Be righteous to one another, dudes.

“Say hello to the bad guy!”

It’s a little bit late for Halloween now but what the hey, here’s Aes Rizzle (that’s Aesop Rock to you non-fans) new video featuring Mountain Goats’ John Darnielle “Coffee”. If it’s not the best thing ever since sliced bread, you have no soul.

It was the charge of the Neon Brigade who turned Mardi Gras from the staid shirt-and-tie crowd to something wild and wacky. At least that was the attempt at our monthly The Knowledge with this month being the Nu Rave edition.
The Lapsap duo of 5ft and XU were a promising start with their sets being the bomb of Palate Palette dishing out infectious New Young Pony Club, Klaxons and Hadouken turned up way high. The entourage decked out in the funkiest nu rave outfits you could imagine were, of course, out in full force. And to complete the set, Johnnie Walker introduced their signature Neon mix to toast our awesome-ness and the spirit of nu rave.
Someone should have sent Mardi Gras a memo though. In spite of forces converging for a classic all-party session of The Knowledge, the less-than-amused folks at Mardi Gras were having none of it. We have a dream that one day ALL club owners will abandon their elitism and velvet roping in favour of a more catholic clubbing culture. Oh well.
We got in a good couple of hours of neon raving and that kept us sated til the next The Knowledge session with James Brown and Kool & The Gang (we’re talking funk) on our minds.
Shout outs to Johnnie Walker for their unwavering support of our crazy music-fueled antics!

A viral video about viral videos and other assorted Internet phenomenon that have changed our lives inexplicably in little ways. (Bonding over Star Wars Kid. Getting laid to the sounds of OK Go’s treadmill video. Using sneezing baby panda to pick up chicks)
We love the Internet. How the hell did people ever survive without the glow of a computer screen and the sheer mind-boggling power of broadband?

Being compared to Rufus Wainwright and the late Jeff Buckley, Patrick Watson is a Canadian singer-songwriter and also the name of the band that he fronts. With Watson’s artistic value, ‘The Great Escape’ can be considered to be one of Watson’s best songs while it is also featured on the third season of Grey’s Anatomy. But what is a great song like that without a great video to go with? Now look for your Great Escape on the video.

Aparently, a few computers was stolen from an office in Vancouver recently. One of those computers was a shared iMac with Flickrbooth, which is an application that automatically hook up pictures taken from the computer to that company’s Flickr account. The day after the robbery, a few new pictures of a man was posted onto the account. Which could only mean - the guy is an idiot (the robber himself), or, the guy who bought it from the robbers (which would still make him an idiot). Here is one of the picture posted:

FREE YOURSELF FROM THE RULES, AND SHOOT YOUR HEART OUT
Filed in Tech | No Comments | Submitted by Lyia ShaminGet basic and go postmodern at the same time with Lomographic’s latest Green Holga Camera Starter Kit with built-in flash. This starter kit includes “Mes Vacances Avec Holga” (“The World through a Plastic Lens”) photo book by Fred Lebain, 1 roll of medium format film, 2 AA batteries, multilingual instructions, poster, and 1 roll of non-residue opaque tape. Unabashedly low-tech and ideal for beginning photographers, all the operations are completely manual, just read through the multi-lingual instruction book, pour over the poster, wipe your sweaty brow and pop in the two AA Alkaline batteries. Load up the film, tape up the seams, squint your eyes, breathe slowly, and release the shutter. Rough it out with this camera and reap the rewards of distinctly daring photography. Just don’t forget to remove the lens cap.

Holy crap, it’s Urkel with James Earl Jones’ voice!
Filed in Sounds | No Comments | Submitted by Alif OmarLadies and gentlemen, I give you Tay Zonday, Youtube’s latest in their line of musical prodigies-cum-freaks of nature. This guy goes beyond being the new internet meme on everyone’s blog though, he’s huge enough for John Mayer to parody him (Yeah. I don’t remember when John Mayer started to have a sense of humour either). Hell, he made the front page of Los Angeles Times with additional features in The Toronto Star, The Chicago Tribune’s RedEye, The Minneapolis Star Tribune and People Magazine. He’s even got genuine fans who actually think he has real music credence, personally I think dude’s pulling off an Andy Kaufman on us. But I digress, here’s the video that started his rise from internet anonymity to internet laughing stock, or celebrity, depending on your opinion of his music;
