I don’t give a rat’s ass about specialist coffees or gourmet chocolates. Load me up with a cup of instant Nescafe and a Mars bar and I’m good. But faced with the best chocolate shop in all of Britain, what’s a girl to do. Paul A Young’s fine chocs is as tiny a store as it is expensive – a big bar the size of which you normally find at airports was £35, but then again Paul had just returned from the World Chocolate Awards with three gleaming gongs under his armpit. Among his specialties are lush dark chocolate bars studded with fennel seeds & ginger, cardamom or sea salt, and he’s got a terrific way of upselling you from beautifully packaged box of four to a bag’s worth. Tasty.
