Dull is the least expected word to use on Björk. This woman continues to push the envelope with her music into art. There’s never an easy solution to Björk’s music, live performances and music videos. We are impressed by this artist more and more everyday.

That’s a screen capture from her latest single ‘The Dull Flame of Desire’ from her Volta release and it features vocals from Antony Hegarty from Antony & The Johnsons. The words in this song is a translation from Fyodor Tyutchev’s poem in the Andrei Tarkovsky film called ‘Stalker’.

The single will be released on September 22nd, but the video is already out and it is brilliantly unique. She ran a competition for new directors to work with her and she chose Christoph Jantos from Berlin, Masahiro Mogari from Tokyo and Marçal Cuberta Junca from Girona to direct ‘The Dull Flame of Desire’.

So this is how it works. Björk and Antony recorded this against green screen in New York as raw footages for the directors to edit their sections individually. Finally, it goes into the final editing in London and voila! Another masterpiece.

Check out the artistically awesome black and white video here.

JUICE approves.
By the way, Björk’s ‘All Is Full Of Love’ is voted #2 on MTV TWO’s Greatest Video Ever.
