Give it up to the DJs doing it big for themselves. Real DJs who scratch usually don’t get the recognition that they do, but there’s a lot of competition held this year. It was the Malaysian DJ Battle Championship 2008 held recently at Poppy. The battle started in 2006, and this is their third installment with two categories- Digital Battle (Long Mix) with DJ Anowl taking first place and DJ KevKenji at second; and the Art of Turntablism with Lazyr (Malaysia’s representative at this year’s DMC competition) taking top spot and Ritz at second place. The Rebel Scum and The Works’ DJ Syed Effects takes the title of Best Scratch.
JUICE is kicking ourselves for missing this one. Congrats to all winners and finalists for doing your thang. Keep it real son.
